I have mice eating my vines I think they like the sweet taste the great ferts, are giving the plants by producing sugars.I have set mouse traps out with peanut butter.after trapping a dozen mice.they slowed down.I started putting Karo syrup on with the peantbutter I trapped another one.I think they like the corn syrup. There were holes in the ground in the plant area I kew these were mouse holes.I hope they dont get the vine leading to my melons.I only have 2 this year.one is about 115 lbs the other aboout 90 -95 lbs.Shh Keep it a secret!!

I get them bad whenever I use the plastic mulch. THey have a field day under there. I am done with the plastic for a while. They do eat the roots too. The whole plant must be sweet. You could spray the vines with hot pepper juice. See if they like that!

Castor bean pellets will run them off. They ate half way thru the vine on my 238 at about 200 pounds. Thought I would lose it. The guy at the local hardware store suggeted castor pellets and it worked great. I have used them ever since.

the hot pepper didn't work for me last year. Castor bean pellets seem to help. Lots of different bait in the traps. Your peanut butter on mole peanuts works great !

Yes If I use a 1495 I might catch Dave himself.lol
I trapped all the dumb mice only the smart ones are left.I started putting the peanut butter on the bottom of the trigger so they cant lick it off.

Wedge a raisin in the curved part of the trap with the peanut butter, it works for me.
