This is our first year growing giant watermelons. My 9 year old son is the "real" melon grower in the family. We set a 1st year goal of growing a 100 lb. melon but we were able to grow 3 melons in excess of 100 lbs. He is so excited and has already set a goal for next year of 200 lbs. Any suggestions on specific seeds to achieve this would be appreciated.

Farmyall.com even bring a melon if you are able but thats going to be a good place to meet a couple of the local growers and go from there. several people on here will offer seeds here come winter time

239 Leonard is the best of the best in my humble opinion. Go here to see what grew the largest melons in the world last year:

Come to the Farm Yall festival in Cullman, Al on August 23rd. We are having a Giant Pumpkin and Watermelon weighoff. There will be several growers from the Southeast. Website is farmyall.com for information.
