In order to be competitive in general, how many days after pollination do you need for the plant to remain healthy to keep supporting the melon?Has been a struggle but I have contained the downy mildew issue and after an application of nitrogen have decent plant health back.Melons taping around 140-160lbs and were pollinated at 6/20 - 6/23.wondering what to expect and how long should be reasonable to expect plants to live.THanks.

I don't think you need to worry about how many days after pollination as far as the plant health but yet maintaining the good plant health for thee entire season of growing to be competetive in general. If you look back at dairys from seasons prior you will see alot of plants that look great right into weigh-off time. Keep the bugs and the disease at bay as long as you can, any way you can to push the fruit thee entire season in my opinion. Sounds like your doing Great!! Good Luck
