i got my 282 dawson going but its only about 3 to 4 ft long one main vine and one side vine my polinateing plant never sprouted so i guess im gona self polinate it, plant looks healthy but thinking im gona polinate end of july the way its growing is this too late???? ill be happy with any size melon !!! pizza

I try to pollinate by July 4th.
I'm in coastal Va.
My plants are around 200 sq ft.
I wait until plants have at least 100 linear ft of vine,otherwise plant wouldn't support the rapid growth of the melon.
How cold does it get in NJ in September/October?

It get to about 90 plus in august ,sept it cools down too 60 to 70 oct cold brrr lol, ill wait as long as i can before i polinate ,next year im gona start alot esrlier
