okay i have chosen my melon 6 feet from stump its on a single vine comeing out of stump???? does this make it a main vine?????

and do i deadhead the two main big vines i got or do i leave grow so i get a bigger plant ??? 10x10 right now if im lucky ???

the melon is maybe 5 days and the size of a soda can the other 2 were not growing so i said bye bye lol

Pizza, I think I would let that plant get bigger, at least another 150 sq ft bigger. I think you will benefit from a little bigger plant. So I would not dead head any vines yet.
Usually, the plant will have a thicker , longer vine that is considered the main vine.

Pete I would deadhead the finger vine the melon is on... that's what it sounds like you have going and let the rest of the plant grow
