I've got a stump that Has a hollow in it that I can stick my pinky finger in for about 3 inches and comes to a solid stop. It's a graft to bushel gourd rootstock. The inside feels solid and not soft and gummy. The stump doesn't leak. Any advice other than try to keep it dry? The hole is on top so not sure how to keep dry without sticking something in the hole

I made a paste out of sevin dust and daconil for a hole in a melon once. Texture of drywall mud. Hardened nicely and held for several weeks.

Try putting a garbage bag over a milk crate, then propping it up at an angle, then a fan under the open end. No water entry, fan helps keep it dry. Peace, Wayne
