What do you both think about an alternative grower. That way if one member can't compete, you have a replacemnet picked without bias due to whats in the field ??

I think that is a great idea Chris! That would eliminate any mid season confusion if one of the team members was unable to grow or compete.

Wayne, it works for me this year. Since this was Marvin's slot, maybe you can rotate it among other Marvin friends when doing rematches in future years. This year I am doing a Mitchell tribute row with 255's, 259's, and Bill's 216. That is likely what Marvin would have planted.

Alternates will impact the "Field" team. What if the alternate can't compete, then we go to second alt, third alt? The "Field" team is already at a disadvantage without further dwindling the pool. I would suggest if one team has a member that can't compete due to health, then the opposite team drops the corresponding member.

For example, if the number 3 member of Jeremy's team drops out, Wayne would drop his number 3 pick.

I also think we'd be leaving the door wide on interpretation of "can't compete." Probably need to clarify the stipulation, death/health are obvious reasons but a broken arm or leg? Patch wiped out by tornado?

I will further clarify my thoughts on removing team members, if Jeremy's member #3 "can't compete" and Wayne's number #3 is eliminated, Wayne's #3 pick would not be eligible for the "Field Team."

Well, the "World" Team was an after thought of the original idea and with that in mind I see no reason to stipulate to the "World" Team since there isn't much at stake for "us". This will be fun to follow! I'd like to see this idea picked up in the other categories, the money goes to charity so no one loses. Good job guys.
