We had some cooler weather pass through but really everything weatherwise has seemed tame, with no significant rainfall.
The gourd stopped growing a couple weeks ago, then boom it explodes, almost like the pod of one of those plants that wants to spread its seeds everywhere!
I guess I should have picked it after it stopped growing, rather than leaving the air nozzle in a tire that was already full.
Will bushel gourds pop open if they sit too long on the vine? Ps, on the same plant there are two other gourds that are young and growing and have not exploded, and quite a few nodes of new growth where the plant could send any extra energy. (But plants dont think about it that way and they might continue to send energy where its not needed.)
Just curious what you think. Feel free to email me.

I think I should have carefully read the post a few posts down, about whether to leave them on the plant.
