OK everyone a poll what is your favorite variety of tomato based only on taste. I think the best is watermelon beefsteak (heirloom variety) another very good and sweet one is garden peach its even slightly fuzzy. I always like to try at least one new variety a year and figured that the people here would be able to give some good input.

ohhh please....Brandywine for tomatoey taste, and Cherokee Purple for flavor...Sun Gold Cherry tomatoes for eating by the handfuls.

All around taste, I would say "Stupice" hands down
Mild tomatoe flavor "Giant White"
And for Zesty Tomato flavor "Cherokee Purple", also my favorite for Salsa

Three years ago I received some seeds from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. The gardening editor was giving out seeds to what he proclaimed to be Pittsburgh's own heirloom tomato. It's called a "Potato Top". Large sized fruit with with an outstanding taste thats like a little bit of heaven. My mouth is watering as I write this.

I've bounced back and forth between Brandywine and Box Car Willie. Presently I say Box Car Willie. Box Car Willie will likely out produce all, of the larger fruit one's right up, to the first frost.

I have grown many kinds of tomatoes, Black Cherry,Isis Candy, and Sunsugar are by far the best eating tomatoes I have ever had the pleasure of growing. If you have not grown them I would give them a try next year.

There are so many outstanding heirloom tomato varieties it's hard to choose. German Johnson, Brandywine Sudduth Strain, Cherokee Purple, Burracker's Favorite, Hillbilly, Earl's Faux, Stump of the World and on and on. You can't miss with any of these. Taste is very subjective. Some like the old school acid bite and some like milder sweet tating maters.

The ones i have growen are- brandy boy, big zaks,delious, celiberty, forth julys, cheroce purple, brandywine, superstake, sweet 100s, sugar snacks,monster,bigbeef, super tasty, mortgage lifter, & many more, but my vote goes to beef master -there large many fruit & by far the best flavor!!!BEEF MASTER !!!

Totally Tomato had a new variety last year that I grew. My wife really liked them a lot. They were called Tomcat and it was a cluster variety (came free last year).

There are a few for me. Overall I would say Brandywine, for a tomato that sets fruit HEAVILY all season with a great taste I would go with Morgtage Lifter. And for a giant tomato with a good taste I would say Big Zac..........Paul
