Hey Ernie, I noticed in your diary you measured a tomatoe ( circ. & length) & gave it's est. weight. I was wondering how this is done. My best right now is 17 " in circ & 8" in length. They are Big Zacs & they always seem to weigh heavy, by that I mean if you get a Big Boy & Beefsteak the same size as the Big Zac the Big Zac always weighs heavier than the other 2.

Hey Paul:

Sorry it took awhile to get back to ya been busy, yer tomato is about 2 lbs. I have a growth chart I'm working on very similar to measuring pumpkins and should have the final calculations done when I get some free time, it will be within about 10% accuracy. Smaller fruit is alot harder to pinpoint growth but within about half of a quarter pound is pretty good. Yes Big Zac will weigh heavier as they have small seed cavity with lotsa meat. I'll have to ask Minnie if she has any recorded measurements of various stages of growth with her tomatoes next time I talk with her, sort of to get a 10-20-30 day average. I know with my "Thunder Creeks" I keep very detailed records.

Will post the chart when I get it finished, might be a bit but I could post the rough chart in a couple days.
