Captian Cold Weather - your Dad had a variety of purple
tomatos at last summers Patch tour Bar'BQ. The Boss lady
would like to know what variety they are and if any seeds
might be available? She said they tasted better than any
tomato she has ever eaten....LB

How about Cherokee Purple or Black Krim..two of the best tasting tomatoes in my book..then you have Brandywine.

Japanese black, Black Prince, Black tolon, Black Krim
Those are some of what dad grew last yr. I will ask him.

I know he had one variety that he wouldnt even tell me what it was lol.

Cherokee purple is great unless it gets crossed with giant Belgium pink then it tastes bitter.

there is a place near us that sells the plants over 90 varieties. that is one place we go to. but i know he orders as well.
I sent u a e-mail,.

Oh Dad and I are planning on hosting the second pumpkin patch tour of 08.

WIz thought it would be a great idea, since longmont is starting to get a few good growers

WE are hoping that we will be able to have lots of ripe tomatoes for you to try. It willbe a pumpkin tour, with other vegies for growers to look at. something for everyone.

Purple Dog Creek is actually a very rare Kentucky heirloom. They are from a small community called Dog Creek near Munfordville KY. I have a few seeds to spare Wayne if you'd like to grow a few plants. Let me know.
