I need help, this is my first year starting tomato's from seeds. My plants are about 7 weeks old. I've had them outside yeasterday and by the end of the day they were all turning light brown on the tops of the leafs. They were fine till I set them outside. What's going on?

Thanks

Kenny

Are you keeping enough water in the pots? Did you leave them outside all day the first time out?

Did you harden them off? I get mine use to the outside slowly. I put them in a sheltered area in part shade out of the wind for a few hours only. It is best to have them just slightly moist so they get use to a little drought but don't let them dry out. Add more time each day letting them into a little more direct sunlight. It is good to do this with most plants started by seed indoors.

Nic2Nic,
I would have guessed sun burn. Can it be fixed?

Thanks

Kenny

It depends on the severity. Get them partially covered/shaded tomorrow & see if they perk back up. If they do, uncover them gradually.
