Here in Boise City, OK, we hold a separate giant tomato weighoff at our county fair each year (usually second Tuesday of Sept). $100 first prize, the last two years, and Junior and Senior divisions. Not a lot compared to pumpkins but still. 2010 should be our third year. You do not have to be a Cimarron County Resident or a member of the P&T Grower Club to enter. ($100/50/25; $50&$50 savings bond/50/25 junior). Cutoff age for Junior is 14 or older day of weighoff. Usual rules, doesn't have to be ripe, doesn't have to be perfect, no wet flesh, no dripping.
