The Cimarron County Free Fair Tomato Weighoff has been set for Friday, Sept 17th at the fairgrounds on the north end of Boise City.

This weighoff is held by the P&T Grower Club in cooperation with the County Fair Board. It is held on the fair grounds during the Fair; free admission and no entry fee. It is open to everyone from everywhere; with two age categories; Junior and Senior.

Previous years, prizes in both categories: $100/50/25 Senior, $50&$50savings bond/50/25 Junior. It may be higher for 2010.

Main rules: Must be edible. Does not have to be ripe. No wet flesh. No fresh damage. Must be grown by entrant (bottom age cutoff is about Headstart age, 3-4] Junior or Senior depends on age day of weighoff; 14 or older is Senior. Any tomato not claimed at close of weighoff becomes property of the judges.

No, depends on when you can set out; and when your weigh is.

I am already starting plants to vegatatively propagate. Ones for straight setting out here will be end of Feb. That will bring the late season beefsteaks in in late Aug to early Sept here.

Don't know. We will have some of his in the big tomato lot; I started two for vegetative 'cloning' propagation and they are doing some dinghummer seedlings/plants.
