i was wondering if i should use the same stakes (WOODEN) that i used last year and the plants got the blight? and anyone know what causes the blight? GOD BLESS, TREETOP

Clean them with Bleach or a commercial fungicide.

Actually, if you leave them outside where they are exposed to freezing weather, the spores will all be killed. If you keep them somewhere where it is warmer,like in a basement or heated garage or shed, you could have a problem.

Go to the Cornell site and read about Late Blight. THere is some very good stuff there.

Blight cannot overwinter unless it's host is a live tomato or potatoe plant. I recently asked this question to an expert at UCONN and this is what she told me.
