I have learned quite a bit about giant tomatoes
and which seeds grow them.

The book is the best 20 bucks i have spent on Tomatoes.

That is about the best book I've seen. It tells you how to grow good healthy tomatoes THEN how to grow for greatness.

Another one I feel was worth my $ was the 'World Record Tomatoes' by Charles Wilbur.

Matfox on this forum was a collaborator, between the Meisner book, Mat, and Duane (Perry) we have excellent 'mater growing resources!

Thank you all so very much. The reason I wrote the book was the hope that all the growers could do better. In depth information was difficult to find. The best growers were willing to help me with their advice and growing techniques. I think with more people trying to grow big and good seeds and the sharing of information that we will see Gordon Graham's record go down. Nick already nearly broke the record. This year could be the year. Also, the book by Wilber on growing "World Record Tomatoes" is well worth reading. He grows pretty much totally organic. He lived in the South and, unfortunately, I believe he has passed.

The name of the book is "How to Grow World Record Tomatoes" and it was written by Charles H. Wilber and it is available on Amazon.com

I found a copy at my local library a while back, I'd agree it's a good book. I'll be trying some of his methods this year. Brian

I got both books, through Amazon.

There have been two tomatoes in Canada over the 7# mark; the most recent over 7# was Nick's (#4 ever on heaviest). I sure will be growing to KEEP the WR tomato record in OK :)

Thanks for the book, Marv; that is about the most definitive 'mater book... I got ahold of it the year it came out.

If you buy just one book for tomatoes, buy the Meisener book even if you don't ever try to grow for greatness. Healthy happy delicious magnificent fresh homegrown tomatoes. :D (as it is S*N*O*W ing out there right now!)
