I have planted lots of tomato plants, When should I fertilize them? What should I use like do I go with a high in nitro fert or high in p or k now.

How big are they now and how long have they been out? Half strength kelp/seaweed or Extreme Blend a few days after planting is always good :)

I think Extreme Blend is going to give me the lunkers this year... else start with something gentle at half strength for a few passes (couple times a week) then work into some moderate nitrogen... since I started AG growing the kelp and fish I use on them have done me well with the tomatoes. No need to go "high" with either N, P or K. There are natural fertilizer blends with numbers as simple as 2.5-5-5 that could be applied in the depths of hole at planting time and added within back-fill soil around that soil-root mass.

If the 'food' is in the soil and a damp/moist soil can be maintained without extremes of dry or saturated one only needs the HEAT of the daily sun to awaken that soil and the plants will respond favorably.

You already have what you need for a good tomato harvest....so long as the hail stays away !
