Late Blight is being reported as coming back this year, at least in PA. Spores are carried up into the atmosphere and then dropped with rain onto your plants. By the time you see it, it is too late. Start spraying now, as people do with pumpkins, to prevent the disease or at least have some control over it. Once you have it, your tomatoes are done. Several things are recommended......Mancozeb, Daconil, Immunox etc. Maybe Tremor can give us some suggestions about what to use and when. Larry Checkon reported this on the Pumpkin section of the forum. Garden less than 20 miles from my house are reporting infection, actually, a Master Gardeners site.

Start a program or routinely cleansing your plants' leaves and stems with a product called Plant Wash that is provided by Soil Mender Products. (soilmender.com) One oz. per gallon is sufficient working solution to use with a pump sprayer. Cleanse the surfaces and flush off precursor pathogens that have may have arrived yet their colonies are still small in population and one can prevent such maladies from festering....on any type of plant. Garden hose water flushing alone just does not fulfill the task, and for that matter could exacerbate the issue. Follow that cleansing process the next evening with a good foliar feed step of something like a fish-and-seaweed (or our Foliar Plus) and feed those plants while the pores and stomata are open and receptive. Alternate those cleansing and foliar feeding steps every week.

Call the company's 800 #, and tell them Ross referred you. Ask them for my phone #, call me, I can share more with you. Consider ordering a qt. or gal. of the concentrate and have it UPS'd to PA. We do not yet have distribution connections into PA at this time.
