As we all get ready for the coming season, what are your plans? What seeds will you be growing? Will you be doing anything different? What are your goals for this year? Do you have a secret weapon? What makes you think you will do better than anyone else? Or better than you did last year? Is anyone out there reading this?? Marv

i promise to prune, and not to prune, i want to test how the same plant with the same growing conditions grows, i read a lot about some giants growing on a perfectly pruned plant, and have read about a few of the largest ever grown found on the ground late in the season, so thats one test, the second will be different mycos,ferts,iron,ph, ect....
and also i grow 8 plants in one spot up against the deck, so this spot i will also try (s.r.m red ) behind the plants to see if this helps, also going to start a second batch of the same maters for later in the season, (for the local weigh-offs) all 4 soil reports are back and looking good, i do have one secret weapon, that i think worked on the 7.33 hunt last year that produced 6 maters over 3 lbs. that i will try again this year, if it works to any degree again this year i will let everyone know so they can try it themselves, also i cant wait for the spring meeting to get my 4.46 plant back from matt d. he cloned it over winter, how many plants this year marv? good luck, scott

well mud,i mean marv,lol,ill be growing all three of yur seeds,and i added some chickenmanure and some other stuff to the garden to help everything grow!!!! im going for 4 pounds and up this year and cant do any worse than last year afterhurricane irene flattened my garden and watched my maters roll down the street!!!!lol, im gonna prune really ,really good this year and try some mycro too!!! hope we all have some fun and grow alot of monsters,if all goes well we will be compareing bowlning ball size maters!!! pizza also got some itiallian hearts im growing along with 3.94 pennington and the 4.43 marley all my seeds are from 4 pounders and up!!!!!

marv.. I will do things different this season,, as i missed a good portoin,, of the early season,, last year.. do to being away fer 6 weeks ,, I will do pruning a bit better,, try to keep a couple of my best plant fer growing only 2 maybe 3 fruits,, see if thats the trick,, lol,, so far I got 2, 7.18 harps up,, 2, 4.28 timms.. a couple of my lil 1.94's.. will start a few more after the peppers sprout,, secret ingredients,, i dont know.. lol,, maybe a few willow twigs buryied in the soil,,

Our plans are to grow a new WR mater. How we're going to do it is still up in the air. I have a couple ideas floating around in my head. We will plant a couple of your seeds Marv. Which seeds of your do you recommend?

Jane and Phil, which seed is the best? I don't know and if I did that would be the only one I would plant. I like the seed I got from your big Delicious tomato. I think it has definite potential. I also like Brutus Magnum and Mega Marv. I am certain there are many other great tomato seeds out there including Giant Belgium and Slankard's. I think any or these varieties could grow big with some dependency on the weather, which is uncontrollable. That is why I think it is important to grow more than one variety each year. And don't exclude Big Zac from the mix as the potential is always there. Marv

Started my MegaMarv and Brutus Saturday....along with BiG Z, 5.18 Lyons, and a 7.13 Hunt and a few Delicous....as well....I need to prune better this year to I dont end up like previous years......13 pounds 5 fruit... and three clusterZ...I must do better

Lots and lots of seaweed this coming week-end about 8 inches down in a raised bed. I did that two years ago and the yield was incredible. Two or three applications of Biota Max and regular doses of molasses, fish and kelp should do the trick, the rest is up to mother nature.

Started six 7.33 Hunts and four 5.18 Lyons tonight. The Marley's were all included in each AVGVG seed pack, and a lot of us are planting it as well.
