Any charts such as the pumpkin charts to estimate tomato size base on cc or anything? im sure some of you have some weights and measurements just based on ones that you have harvested. jsut curious.

As pumpkin, tomatoes can be hollow and dense.

Based on the previous tomatoes :

24,5" CC = about 4,5lb
24" CC = about 4,3lb
But Tuija tomatoe seems densier : 22,2" CC = 4,37lb
Fabrice EGVGA record tomatoe was 24,4" CC = 5,07lb
My 3.83lb was 21,8" CC.

By the way, what were the CC's of the Nick and Phil 7lber ?

With the 2 circonferences ( horizontal and vertical), it's possible to get a better estimated weight.

This isn't foolproof but it does give you a good idea where they are at.
15" = 1 lb
16" = 1.5 lb
17" = 1.5 to 2 lb
18" = 2+ lb
19" = 2.5+ lb
20" = 3+ lb
21" = 3.5+ lb
22" = 4+ lb
23" = 4.5+ lb
24" = 5+ lb
25" = 5.5+ lb
26" = 6.0+lb

In 2010 I measured hundreds of tomatoes along 3 axes and developed a formula that can, in most cases, project within 10% of scale weight.

The formula is analagous to that used for pumpkins, but a bit of number crunching is needed - no tables developed.

I'll be glad to post the formula and how to use it if there's interest. It would be great to get more data from other growers so the formula can be improved.

Our 7.33 was either 26 or 27" in diameter. It was 2 years ago & I can't remember for sure which one it was. I'll have to ask Jane. She'll remember.

i'm growing a big zac and it just turned red. how long before i need to pick it and have it weighed. it's taping a 19 inch cc and a 4.5 inch ee. i was curious as when to pick it before it starts going the other way
