The only problem that I can see-from using cotton seed meal, is that- if every seed in the meal was crushed in manufacture it is ok, but if one or two stray uncrushed seeds got into the mix your garden is soon going to be full of cotton plants :)

I believe they bake it hot already to get the oil out of it..so germination should not be an issue. Yardman if you really want to bake it use clear plastic...black absords the heat..

Never had good luck with clear linus, stuff would be growing inside& under it.seen& dun the black& it'll be baren afterwards.small amounts i just bake on stove in a cheap big pot

Solarize it..give it an air gap..

Air gap? To keep it from making moistore?

To make the heat...there is a reason why greenhouse put black shade cloth on them in the summer. Black will warm it up but not as much as the clear

Yes i know they do for greenhouses it shades the inside keeps uv rays from getn trapped.now the clothe itself is hot to touch than clear is.but the heat has nothing to radiant into but shaded air inside so it stops there.but when that black plastic is touching dirt & dirt is an excellent insulator.the heat the black absorb radiate into the soil.were in the greenhouse it stops nothin but air

I can see I am not going to convince you...So go ahead and use the black plastic..good luck you basically proved what I was saying in your response...do one clear and one black and test the soil temp at 6 Inches

Yeah im stubborn lol.& yes i did prove what you said bout black& clear on greenhouses.but far as the ground iv tried clear& black in the past clear gets bout 90% weeds(very heat tolerant here)& grass.black deprives the sun& doesnt create moistore that seems to give that extra 10%.chop it up as a educational argument thanks i enjoy them
