Pete I've got the new Burpee "Super Beefsteak" plants going if thats the ones your talking about. This is the first season I've seen this variety. I'm also trying out the new Burpee Porter House Hybrids (Huge) along with Ferry-Morse "Mortgage Lifter" Tomato. Should be interesting.

Yes, the new Burpee tomato I believe everyone is speaking of is called the Steak House Hybrid and is featured on the front cover of their catalog that I'm looking at as I type this.

If someone who has enough room to add this to their lineup would be willing to attempt a large tomato from it I'm very sure all of us would be quite interested.

I would love to add a couple of these to my lineup but I simply don't have the room past my 21 plants.

Someone please grow this.

Addendum;

The Burpee catalog I'm looking at is the most recent catalog Burpee has released. The 2014 catalog.

Coll Pizza, That's great you'll be growing some!!
You'll have to keep us informed throughout the season as to the progress of these on your diary page.

Excellent!!

Anyone haveing issues with germinating of these Burpee "Steakhouse" Seeds? Used the same starting mix, same Temp, Same everything and had 2 out of 35 seeds germ. I've got another packet of them so I'm going to do a late batch....again. I've got over 400 Tomato plants (along with the cometition plants) growing for our sales out here at the house so I know how to germ tomatoes,lol. Just wondering
