Got bored today and decided I would start some tomato seeds.
3 weeks till last frost date, I figured they would be ready to put out in 6-8 weeks.
First time growing these so we will see what happens.
1- 4.22 Reinhard (8.41 Maccoy x open)
2- 5.05 Reinhard (6.88 Maccoy x open)
1- 4.73 Reinhard (4.57 Maccoy x open)
2- 4.79 Terry (8.41 Maccoy x open)

I want to thank Tyler Reinhard and Jason Terry for the seeds.
I hope I can produce one as big as they did.
I have ordered Dr. Meisner's book and have read almost every post on this message board.
I would also like to thank Pa_J for your diary entries.
Very detailed information.
Hope everyone grows em big.

Best of luck to ya! You should also start a batch in a couple months and see how they do compared to your early batch. I start mine way late ( June 1st )
I'm in Wisconsin and bring them to Oct weighoffs. They seem to like the day lenth and light spectrum that time of year for me anyway for a fatty!

Thanks !
In a couple of months it could be 90+ degrees here.
Trying to beat the heat I guess.
I'm not planing to enter a weigh off, although if I can raise one to a good size, perhaps I register it online.

What about starting a few July 1st then put outdoors in August to see how your fall treats them?

That's probably a good idea.
Usually frost free here until thanksgiving.
Germination chamber is maintaining about 100 degrees air temp.
Soil temps in upper 70s it appears.
How long does it take to sprout?
I can get melons to pop in about 40 hours at that temp.
