From the looks of it there are lots of growing little fused blossom tomatoes this year. The question is which of these will grow into monsters. The growers job is to try to keep them growing. At the first sighting of a blush the end of growth and weight gain is near. This is much like the change in color of pumpkins sending the message that growth is near complete. Keep your eye on your tomato. Water it. Feed it. Prune the plant. Support the tomato. Protect it from disease and sun scald and wild animals. And hope that it stays green and keeps growing. Good luck to all. At this point the race is on.

thanks Marv, I am a rookie but have 8 plants with fused blossums going, with another 14 plants yet to set one on. I dont expect anything big but I am amazed how easy it is to get megablossums with todays genetics. The one thing that I have definately noticed is that plants grown from tomatoes that weighed over 5 pounds have by far bigger blossums. My biggest problem has been blossum end rot...even though I water everday and adding cal-mg into the drip lines.
