Awful quiet this winter ...or is everyone secretly making plans for 9lbs?...don't know about anybody else but wixoms "almost" 12lber has put a hitch in my gitty-up for the maters this year...haven't made any seed choices yet...what are we thinking...??..

Right now.For early tomato,i will be growing 8.61 Sutherland, 8.41 MacCoy, 8.36 Boudyo, 7.45 Martin, 7.33 Hunt, 7.19 LaRue,7.18 Harp, 7.10 Foss, 6.89 Timm, 6.83 Fulk and (maybe more if they arrive in time) in soil with hopefully controlled self pollinations. In outdoor hydro...still deciding on the seed line-up. And then in 8 40 gallon pots, I will have to choose my lineup to try to compete for fall weighoffs...being in 40 gallon pots i can bring them into the garage in september and put them under 1200 watts of metal halide/hps grow lights. Yes, I am a little obsessive.

Anything but those konieczny seeds, they suck !!!

they really do suck...i wouldnt think of planting a konieczny seed. Ooops, i just realised that i was thinking about a konieczny or offspring seed in my hydro or fall weighoff lineup. Early tomatoes for me is to capture genetics..hydro and fall weighoff is to grow big.

Of course all 5 of my big tomatoes but i plan on trying burpee's steakhouse again. it was the first tomato that i ever grew to 3 lbs two yeas ago and i dont know why i didn't grow it last year.and then one from the catalog called italian sweet. That is a potato leaf beafsteak that can grow 3 lbs. As for big Zac's probably porkchops 7.05 and a couple of dan MacCoy's seeds not sure witch ones yet. May be others to but haven't given it much thought yet still early.

All my plants will be outdoors in a few months..i have work to do indoors to make the changes to compete for next year. I know of one grower that is setting up his indoor grow room he has sent me pictures..it is way beyond what i have now...using hepa air filters...very controlled temp and humidity and many more things. Next winters competition could be really difficult. Most important for me this summer..get the genetics from the best ever....next year grow those genetics to world record.

Chris, a few years ago I grew some Italian Sweet.
I did not get any fruit that were of impressive size although they were tasty!
Now, I didn't grow 10 plants, but I thought the catalog description was misleading.
I am still considering what to grow but attempting to track down the elusive ribbon vine!
