Not a fan of this late season cold weather growing. Nothing seems to be growing except the blight.i know their is 3 to 4 weeks to go but i can't see big tomatoes growing in these cool temps. What do you other growers think ?

We had highs in the 60's with lows in the 40's in the past week. Maters that I was getting .4 inches per day slowed to .125 inches per day. Blight is coming in strong. I have it at bay right now but could lose the battle easily. This is not the time to grow for the big ones but I am hoping that the DAP numbers will increase to offset the colder temps, less light environment. My tomatoes may be smaller this year than if I had aimed for early tomatoes but it actually seems more fun to me to grow for the weighoffs.

This raises a ? which should probably posted in another post, but here goes. In Kentucky when trying to grow an AG, for a real early weigh-off, we start them in a covered frame to protect them from cold weather (or wrather). Is it possible to do this w/late season tomato plants? Peace, Wayne
