No hate don and Jeanne - you can have an opinion here it’s not the “other non-pumpkin” page :) - me personally I love the ugly ones - they are much more fun to grow than a single blossom-also that’s why we all like porkchop we like ugly things

I thought southerland's big one didn't look too bad, but... you could start a competition for largest single blossom. Hard to enforce that, though.

Porkchops 8.22 was the best looking damn tomato I'd ever seen. Don and Jeanne, did you see Q Tips carrot? What did you think of that? That thing wasn't deformed but formed into a beautiful specimen. That's why I'm growing one this year. This type of competition is super manly, so I'm told on a daily basis.

I used to think the giant tomatoes were ugly...until I started to grow them. Now I love the strange shapes that come from these megas. The more fused the more interesting. Wixom, you are thinking small..only 5 fused? I wish I hadn't lost the 7 fused that I had earlier this winter. That should have been a very unique shaped tomato the way the sections were fused in an V shape. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Think of it if you were at an art museum. Imagine a painting of only one red circle in the middle of it. Imagine another painting with 5 red circles that are connected to each other, some interconnected more than others. Which one would people vote for as most beautiful painting. Some would choose the single circle for conformity ..others would choose the multi-circles for being more interesting. I like the interesting.

I'm thinking 3 red fused circles equaling 10 pounds will look much better than 7 red fused circles equaling 7 lbs. We are nuts.
