I am up there with wixom. Thinking about 40 plants. Only about 20 of these will be what I consider super competitive seeds. The others will be a mixture of experimental and crossing stock.

I usually start with 20-24, but I rip out plants if I don't get a decent megabloom on the first or second truss. I usually end up with 10-12 in the end that I pay attention to.

Are their actual 'final rules' for this contest? I think 1 tomato per person should be the ticket.

I am hoping to do 8-10 this year. I personally like the 2 tomato idea. It will help level off the outliers to a degree.

I like 2 tomatoes now ! Porkchop may get one lucky tomato and get a 7 or 8 pounder but his second one is usually around 2 lbs. So that will knock down his average a little bit !!!

I just heard from the executive team challenge committee ...finalization of rules are being written in the bylaws as we speak...we actually may switch to biggest from each grower..there also may be some interesting news on the horizon...I’ve read the memo but cannot release at this time...

Doesn’t matter to me.
I’m thinking 8-12.
I might wait and plant some for the fall.
It was so hot last summer,I suffered blossom drop terribly.
Then the blight came.
What I had for the fall faired much better.
