Here we go. Most, if not all plants are in the ground. Let the pollinating and pruning and watering and feeding and bug/fungus spraying begin. The question is, "When the dust settles, who this year will have grown the biggest tomato of the year and maybe ever?" Boudyo is out, maybe? I would guess the biggest will be from either Canada or the USA. Who you betting on? And, if you are really good, how much will it weigh? I am not sure who will win but I predict among the losers will be the well known Eddy Z. Sorry Eddy but you know it's true. lol

I know Treece isnt a well known for tomatoes but I know of no reason he and his team could hit some winning numbers... When they win everything I will not be at all surprised.

I have a lot of seed out their this year, so as long as a record mater is grown off one of my seeds, i will be happy !!!

I would have to agree with you Glenomkins. Jeff is detailed to a T. His first tomato effort last year he nearly hit 6 lbs. With all due respect Ron will be too busy with his AGs to pay any attention to the maters, although he has a good 8.22 going. Qtip a 7 pounder as a novice, Porkchop pulls my down 7-8+ pounders with relatively few plants AND two outa the last three years, Wixoms overall talent, the real McCoy is back..have to agree with you Porkchop, it's anybody's playing field. However, I'm putting all my chips on Brandon Clayton (Glenomkins).

I like to see what jack larue can do with my seed this year ? Its hard to get the best growers to try your seed unless its over 7-8 lbs !!! Most people look at the weight numbers over the potential !!!

I think Rick Spaziani is on an upward trend i would not be surprised to see him break 8 pounds but i think the best long shot is across the pond. Peter Glazebrook master of the giant vegetables is just getting his feet wet with tomatoes. He is already over 6 pounds. If he not in top 4 next year, I will surprised.
