Hey Bob,

how tall was the 7.07 plant. My zacheart tomato did the exact same thing with a huge bloom. only a portion of the fruit started to grow and the other half stayed the same size. Was the foliage sparse? trying to avoid these situations in the future. I think I may have over-fertilized those plants to be honest. I Buzzed it, I buzzed the heck out of that flower with as much pollen as I could find and it still did that.

Austin, I am still evaluating the conditions. This has been an interesting plant. As seedling it was more agressive than other plant other than a few Brutus Magnums. Because of this I choose one of the best locations in the garden to transplant it to.

My garden this year..i am working with soil I do not know. I brought in 50 cu yds of topsoil that was mixed nutrient heavyl. This was spread over my last years soil.

This plant at 1st truss reacted how my winter plants did when I gave them a high P and K dosage right at flowering time. The plant topped itself forming a ribbon and the blossom. I am wondering if the roots hit a nutrient hot spot in my soil at the right time. Because this is all new soil..it is not homogenous.

This plant reaction was fine for me. I like the ribbon blossoms. The flower started opening. It was so many fused sections that the opening was not all the same time. About 7 days between the first and last section to open. In the middle was 2 days of rain.

I believe if I could have this blossom during a winter grow,I could have gotten it set. Complete pollination of the superblossoms is easier in the winter than the summer. In an effort to save time..I just vibrated all the outdoor plants in a quick trip everyday except for the rain days. Hard to give much specialized attention to 120 plants.

In hindsight..I should have protected this special blossom from the rain. I should have used the brush and pollen collection to insure that it was all parts of the stigma were exposed to pollen. I am going to try to save some seeds...would like to start a few plants next spring to see if they show similar characteristics.

Sorry Qtip...I didn't put effort into it

I still have plenty of seeds from past two years and should much more in the next couple months. Of the seeds you tried westham, which did you like the best?

On a side note..maybe later this winter, I will be wondering if you would be willing help translate some webpages to spanish or checking see if what google translate is translating correctly. After your earlier post i thought maybe I should put a spanish button on gianttomato. I have only 2 1/2 months to go before i start work.

hey james...i like the your new bp identity...it looks like it mean in Valencian "opposite of gravity'' or go.

wixom...you made the megamuttD, I grew the biggest F1...if i own the megamuttD now, then i can sell or give away rights

F1 is easy...all seeds are the same

F2 is the roll of the dice...maybe the biggest grower of the F2 will be the new owner

Really Qtip...blaming bnot for not being lucky...

Right now, I think Jay Yohe is in the lead for F2 megamuttD..there are some other good ones out there...unfortunately..i am not lucky either
