I just acquired GiantTomatoes.com for the price of $2695. This is to cover my original purchase of GiantTomato.com. It was much cheaper. Not going to let it go....1,000,000 giant tomato growers here we come...yes I have 10,000's dollars invested. Maybe in 10 years, i can break even with advertising dollars. Call me crazy, but someone has to take a chance.

Bob I support your effort to bring more attention to tomatoes. I would like to see several classes such as single and multiple blossom. It is my opinion the GPC should be supporting more items that could be eaten or donated.

Thank you for your support Bill. I am interested in the possibility of a having both megablossom and single blossom competition. There are many people that don’t appreciate the strange beauty of the megas. Does anyone know what the largest single blossom tomato was?

Defining what exactly a single blossom is can be up to debate, especially with the new big varieties. What I may call a big single Oxheart, someone else may call it a closely fused double eventhugh the whole tomato is round or oval. A few Zachearts I grew this summer had three very close together ovaries and grew into one big round tomato.

Certainly I would Marv, your book has been the best source of information that I had since starting to grow tomatoes. My newest website GiantTomatoes.com matches the title of your book perfectly. I was just going to redirect it to GiantTomato.com but maybe it could have a better purpose. Thanks for the help you have already given this project.

Hoping when I go to this meeting tonight of web developers that I don't appear too ignorant.

Much work left to do...but I think it can get done.

Bob, I do think this is a great idea. You will have a alot of growth doing this. I would suggest brushing up on facebook, social media platforms are a great way to direct traffic to such a site. I love bigpumpkins.com, but I've linked with alot of pumpkin growers and clubs on facebook. I did the Wisconsin Giant Pumpkin Growers facebook page this year, and I think/hope I helped generate more growing interest within the state and hopefully directed people to find more information on our webpage.

Beard-For me it is more than brushing up...I have never used social media. I know I will eventually have to take the plunge. It will be many months before that time is necessary.

Marv, we are going to have to talk more. I have been thumbing thru your book refreshing my memory. The pictures are so awesome. It could be very much work to digitize your effort from 11 years ago, but certainly could be very valuable to the next generation of growers. Would you be interested in the whole book available online or just sections?
I will be getting this newest website set up with my VPS hosting package this weekend. As I told you, I can give you full administrative authority. I am thinking the easiest method to digitize would be to scan the pages and transfer them as an image. Unfortunately, that might make it difficult for you to revise any section you think is dated.
I purchased gianttomatoes.com to protect from the chance that the plural of gianttomato.com could be a detrimental influence. Maybe it was a lucky decision.
