Awhile back there were a lot of posts about Anthesis, a product to be sprayed on newly pollinated pumpkins that was said to effect the number of cells in pumpkin by more or less prolonging the time during which new cells were being formed. The result was to be more cells per pumpkin and bigger pumpkins. I believe Matt D was producing and selling the product. I was wondering how this worked out and whether anyone had ever tried this on tomatoes?

I tried it on pumpkins and tomatoes for two years. The idea made sense and it was cheap enough to try, but the effects were nothing beyond wishful thinking in my case. I would still try it again if he tweaks the recipe and tries to push his product again.

Marv, I've used it with p-kins and have had good success. I'm a believer and will use it again. I have not used it on tomatoes, but if I ever get serious about growing giant tomatoes, I would use it on them as well.

Try to improve on Cytokinin production by pruning apical end Leaves and may cause Fasciation in plants.
