I would like to learn a little more about team challenge on maters. I would like to try does fruit have to be weighed at a gpc evening so that would be hard for me if not I would like to be in it I plan on growing a bunch of maters.

I grew 1 plant last year hit 3.09. I think if I actually take more pride in it then I did last year I can hit 4.00 to 5.00 pounds

Reed, We could be our own team since we are new growers to this competition.

Watch out for Westham. That is a beautiful blossom you have on the 5.24 clone. Look at the line of fused stigma's.

Is there going to be a draft day or do Reed and I have someone join us? Our team name could be called New Growers On the Block. :-)

I am thinking that this year I will be an observer. I failed my team last year miserably and don't want the responsibity of taking anyone down with me again. Good luck to all. I was part of the A team last season. Apolgies to my old team members. You guys were great. My bad.

Same scenario with me Marv, except as a C grower. My apologies to John B and Damon :-0

Gary, I'm good to go with team salsa. Terrible dry summer here last year. My mega blooms withered on the plants. Too much chlorine here. Jim

If you tried and had a bad year there is no need to apologize. It's all for fun. Signing up, then not even trying is a different story. That's letting your team down. Marv, if you were on my team and just had a bad year, just the communication and learned knowledge would of been well worth it. You are an intelligent enough guy to know that things that are out of your control, like weather, isn't your fault. It would be more of a disappointment that you would be just an observer than participate in any way you can. You wrote a book on how to grow big tomatoes for crying out loud!

We might be interested if we chose new teams. Maybe reduce it to 2 man teams. Those that do sign up though should try hard to report their results, even if they aren't up to their normal levels. I suspect some just gave up last year & didn't report as they didn't get the good results they expected. Keeping in contact with their other team members should also be a requirement for 2019. I never heard anything from my fellow team members last year once the growing season started. If your going to be part of a team, then work together as a team.
Just my opinion.
