I'm trying to track down a few Domingo variety seeds to grow this year. I was gifted some 6.23 Konieczny from Chris but got zero germination on them. If you have any to share or can point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I posted this on Seed Exchange as well

Thanks,
Jay Yohe in Pennsylvania

Yeah i have been hearing some people having a hard time germinating some of my seeds and Domingo seeds. All of my big wixom and 6.23 Domingo came up but i had problems with 9.65 porkchop and 5.71 lambchop only getting 2 of 4 to come up ? So i guess that Domingo seeds may be a little harder the other verieties to germinate.

Rebel's 7.64 seeds came up for me but they are growing funny. Don't want to grow upright even though I try to prop them up.

Yes, but funny growth is a clear sign that the plant will produce a monster tomato! But really, some of my 7.64s are growing bent over. I will transplant into 5” pots this week and put them into the greenhouse. Don’t think they like being cooped up in the germination pots and heat. Either way when they hit the garden I’ll stake those baby’s up. Thanks for the feedback Wile and good luck.

Thanks gmay. Good luck this season with you too. Knock it outta the park! I post some pics that should be up soon. I’m hoping it’s just the LEDs or warmer than normal temps.

I’m not sure what that’s about wile. Other seeds are bent over for me too, not just the 7.64s. I like to use high heat like 95-100F to germinate then I turn it down. The temp is still high because of the lights, like 90-95F most because of the lights. There’ are two 100w LEDs per grow chamber. My soil is just regular seed starting soil.

I’m going with high heat after germination. Domingos take a while and I was waiting for others to come up and they never did.

wixom, I just saw your diary. It appears that domingo are a bit harder for you to start than the rest. For me it has been terrible...I get about 10% germination on them. Maybe this weekend I will start some competition tomatoes. First, I hav to get my Roma tomatoes, Vinton soybeans, Russet and Yukon Gold potatoes, durum wheat, black Peredovic sunflower seeds and Nothstine dent corn seeds in the ground. I figure I have until the middle of June to start the giant tomatoes.

Wixom, my plants are leaning to the right. My trays are turned around. There must be a lot of iron in my soil and they are reaching to the North Pole.
