On top of Brush Mountain, Pa.

The temperature here for nearly two weeks has reached over 90 degrees each day and some days near 100. And no rain. I took the temperature of a leaf on one of our plants and it was 105 degrees in the direct sunlight. It is supposed to rain soon. However, the highest temperatures here usually come in August and so I wonder what will be next? I am hopeful it will cool off. What has it been like for you? My bucket tomato plant needs water once and sometimes twice a day. If I go on vacation I am certain it will burn up. I am thinking about bringing it inside while I am gone. Porkchop, should I take it with me?

It's the same over here. The record for the most 90 days in the month of july is 17 days. We have 7 already and many more in the long range forcast. It looks like we have a good chance at breaking that record this year.

Lebanon, Oregon

The weather pattern has shifted east or west this year. This has been the coolest and cloudiest summer I can remember here in Oregon. It’s been consistently cloudy/partly cloudy and 75/55 for temps. The 10 day forecast is the same. I’d rather have this than blazing sun and heat. By now we have a string of 80’s/90’s, but so far none. No rain which is normal.

Storm brewing for southern New England ! Tropical depression or storm with boatloads of rain ! Think I’m going to attempt to make covers for my containers , which will probably blow off anyway . Been getting killed over here ever since my rain dance ! yup Marv take them with you .

Greenbud, you can polish up your dancing shoes and point them at Eastern Ont. Its been very dry here. we had a small storm last nite, just enough to keep things alive. Thanks in advance for the rain dance. :>) Jim

Eastern Shore of VA

Low coming in tomorrow night here in coastal Virginia.
Forcasting 3.5 inches here.
Not even 2 inches of rain in the last three weeks.
Been watering more here because we’ve been averaging 90 for the last three weeks.

Now I have to figure out a way to block some of that rain !

If you find any piece of large plastic or styrofoam you can cut out a slit slightly wider than your tomato stalk,cut halfway through and then cutout a small circle in in the center, slip it right under your plant on top of your buckets. I did it with the trashcan lids crude but effective
