sorry to post this here but thought id just ask.I have an eggplant that has three eggplants on one stem fused togeather does anyone know if this is common or should i keep seeds from it?iv never grown these before. it is a black beauty. sorry again for asking on the tomato page i didnt know were to post. treetop

Never seen that before, but if the flowers were close enough to fuse, maybe they will produce fruit more densely, but I dunno.

I would keep the seeds to it if you like he megabloom eggplant you never know if that trait will transfer to the next generation or not but it's worth trying.

Never seen that before. Black Beauty is a good one to grow for large eggplants.

To my knowledge fusing is not common on eggplants and it would therefore be disqualified at an official giant veg show. On the otherhand, most giant veg shows have no idea of the official rules so might accept it.

As you're on aubergines if the flower is half opened and I removed stamens for purpising of crossing u think it would of pollinated before I did the cross TIA

It happens occassionally, as it does in marrows and field pumpkins occassionally. I have never seen a fused one grown to maturity yet, so I'd give it a try.
