Help! I found some rot on my biggest tomato that should be about 3 pounds, and it can't be more than a day old, because I checked the tomatoes on Saturday, and they were fine. I took the hammocks off my tomatoes, and looked at their bottoms this morning, and noticed that the bigger one had a spot about an inch wide, and mostly circular that was rotten. I then poked it with my finger and it went right through the walls, and I wanted to know what I could do to help it heal. Even if it doesn't keep growing, I would like to get a non damaged tomato. Thanks!

Sounds like anthracnose. Bummer.

Most likely if you put your finger into it and its leaking it is over ! But it it was blosom end rot that will often dry out and can be saved.

I am not trying to get it to grow much more, as it was already starting to show faint hints if flashing, and was not growing very fast anymore. I did stick my finger in it, and it didn't leak, but it did go through to part of the cavity, so not optimal. I just want it to dry enough to get a weight that I can record as unofficial, not damaged. I don't know what type of rot it is, but it does not look like the black BR, that my Roma tomatoes get every year. It was more green brown and less black.

I did just look up pictures of anthracnose, and that is what my romas normally get, but the romas also look close to what blossom end rot is, so IDK. It might be an early stage of BR, but it is browny-green, not black.

Do you have a picture of your tomato ? The rules say it can't be leaking so as long as it is not leaking it may be acceptable

Sorry, no pics. It is in a triangular cover, and to get at it I have to shuffle over some walking boards, while sitting, and duck underneath a plant, so don't think I could get in there with a phone. It isn't leaking, I just wanted it to heal, so it could maybe redden up and be edible and i wanted it to put on a little more weight. I also wanted it to be able to last until mid October, but that's not happening, so...
I guess it doesn't matter that much. Thanks!
