I vote Yes!!!.... Tomato Tim’s “Bucket challenge” was a great success Last season. I was thrilled to grow a 3 pounder and floored to see some of the other bucket monsters grown. The game has changed again imo. Com on spring!!!

I am growing 10 this year. Instead of old pots I will be using fabric. In total growing 18 instead of 8. And 10 5 gallon instead of 2.

Good idea Porkchop! I’ll add a 10 gallon container to the greenhouse to give me a fighting chance. Recipe? I used a super premium soil mixture from a marijuana grow supply store. I mixed two of them together. Timing of planting in the bucket also important. They were the “runts” that didn’t make the cut to be planted in the garden. Their first flower was just showing. One happened to grow into the megabloom that resulted into the 5.91. I watered based on what he leaves looked like. I would let the pot nearly dry out in between waterings. Saturated soil was my biggest concern that would of led to BER.

Pull away from the sides of the bucket dry?...mind boggling

The soil was such that it would barely contract when drying out. I did add a cup of new soil to the top every week or two to fill any gaps that would form on sides or settling. The top roots would root into the new soil. There’s one secret right there!
