Hello everyone. I have not done gardening for a few years and I was thinking about getting plants of giant varieties. I see some online and I've decided to get going with big zac. Has anyone had any luck with starter plants from totally tomatoes. And I also got pineapple tomatoes as well which is reportedly a giant variety heirloom. Anyone grew those as well.

Hi schalk- most growers here start and grow seeds from the previous seasons biggest tomatos . Big zac is a variety that can produce big flowers that can grow big fruit. I believe the biggest tomato’s will come from plants that don’t have any interruption of growth. (Shipping). That being said, depending where you are at keeping track, you can still grow the biggest fruit you have ever grown with some of the tips and tricks from the tomato growers on this site. Good luck!

In my opinion getting good seed from the grower is probably one of the most important steps. In tomatoes you might get lucky with store bought seed. But a big zac from a seed company has way different potential then a seed from a grower like Pork chop. The seed producer takes no interest in maximum fruit size, they are in the seed selling business. Pollinating any and all fruit that will make seed for them. I grew AG's from store bought AG seed for many, many years. The biggest I could get a pumpkin even with proper cultural care was around 200 pounds.

I spoke with Minnie Zac several days ago, originator of Big Zac, and she says hello and wishes everyone well.

I had wondered if shew was still living. Do you know if she sells seeds? I just think it would be neat to get seeds directly from the developer.
