Hi Dan, this board has died....maybe we can revive it. Years ago...things happened that chased you away from this board....I lost my favorite winter competitor. Might you be interested in a summer challenge, where we grow seed from the same tomato. I know you have many seeds...maybe you could supply the seed for the challenge (not the world record) to make all even.....honor system...i think i can kick your butt. You should have never told me about wood fines.....

waiting for your reply.....

Hmmm!yes this board is dead, maybe you can liven it back up! Yah I enjoyed the winter grows too,not sure at this moment what my plans are for the coming season. I guess I'd like to see a competition like what you suggest that includes everyone, but like I said I'm not sure what my plans are yet. But it's good to see you back, hang in there and you will surely do well soon.

Thanks for the reply. My growing plan for next summer isn't decided yet, but I think I should be able to dig enough garden for a few tomato plants. Their roots don't go that deep do they?....maybe i should have gotten the backhoe attachment.

I like the idea of opening up this challenge to everyone. In years past we have done something similar when growing the new crosses. F1 seeds should be genetically identical as should be F(infinity).

You have not turned down this challenge yet, so there still may be hope....by the way, I have heard that tomatoes make great landscaping plants :)

I have a Facebook indoor winter challenge going right now.....$100 for first $50 second and so fourth.... probably be some prizes too.... every ones a winner with the indoor grows. Some exciting competitions planned for next summer too.

Jeeesh would have been nice to have the winter challenge on BP. Facebook isn't for everyone. Come on Spring!!

Yeah... Facebook is like hard liquor. Bp is just a beer. I gotta function.

Chris, I have never been involved in facebook, but you know I would have great interest in how the winter grow is going. Is there any way you give us some updates here. My winter grow supplies are packed away in my pole barn. Sometime they will come out again...prices on used solar panels are starting to be quite tempting to me.

I am also curious about what the Nowthen Heritage weighoff is about.

Bob yea I can give ya updates…. It’s pretty informal but helps us growers pass the time….

I know Facebook isn’t for everyone but it has been a great resource to get many new growers into the hobby….

And yes Bob I’m hoping you will help with the Nowthen Weighoff!! It’s going to be a Galewoods replacement. I’ll probably put a bit more emphasis on Tomato then most weighoffs do. Gotta keep this hobby growing!!!
