Due to the higher salt content and only 12 hours of sun, my friend is wanting to grow tomatoes close to the coast. Any particular maters that may be successful? Perhaps smaller ones/plants so they can develope within the constraints of the climate... Your thoughts and ideas welcomed.....

I just try to grow eating tomatoes

"All cultivated varieties of tomato are derived from a single species, Solanum lycopersicum. There are 16 wild relatives of S. lycopersicum which are native to South America and confined to a narrow coastal region in the northwestern corner of the continent from Ecuador to northern Chile, including the Galapagos Islands."

Full sun means 6-8 hours of uninterrupted sun.( the more the merrier)

Depends on how long his growing season is for wether he should grow a short season variety or mid season variety or longer such as beefstake

I would have try growing 2 Domingo, big Zac, delicious, big Marley, and beef steak plants to see what grows best for him. Then grow only those varieties that grew well for him.
