I have 10 plants and only the black Russian have developed this on virtually every tomato. There are beefsteak and cherry tomatoes on either side and other varieties in close proximity and they are all fine. Any reason only the black Russian plants would be affected? All plants treated the same.

I believe that the blacks are susceptible to it more than others when I grew a few blacks they always seemed weak.

Ive never seen it on a cherry tomato. The beefsteaks might be bred against soil diseases, thus have healthier roots that can do their job and keep up with the fruit?

That sounds about right, no issues with the neighbouring plants. I didn’t know that other common varieties could be so susceptible to disease.
