My wife told me I need to do this. I have the hammock strings of my big tomato strung through the top of the anti-hail tomato cage. It is pulling it down quite a bit. when she saw this she said I could just tie the strings to a scale. hummmmm

of course the problem is getting it just right so its not pulling or pushing on the vine. The smaller tomato I got growing on the Lyons plant is darn near growing upside down. Would probably work best with that sort of a set up.

The vine will add a small error factor the same as with pumpkins. I have a yellow tomato on which I could try doing this its big but not a giant variety. I guess I could resuscitate my giant tomatoes and try to get them to set a one or two pounder. Maybe after going the local fair puts an end to everything else.

* Meant: maybe I'll try, after everything else is harvested.
