Kirk, was yours thick or thin rinded? Should this be a genetic trait to look for, and if so...which is heavier, rind or flesh? I would guess the rind, but what do I know?? LOL Peace, Wayne

Some go lite or heavy like pumpkins. Wonder if it is Genetic? Methods? Weather conditions? All of the above? I'm not sure. Kirk or vic did you measure yours?

I think most of the thickness of the walls is genetic. I'm sure enviornment and care can change the outcome. If you look at commercial seed catalogs you will see that seed cavity sizes continue to get smaller with newer varieties.
