I have pictures posted under Pumpkin Farm but I have 4 giant Canteloupe as big as any I have ever seen. I put a tape to one yesterday and it measured 38.25 around and 19 inches bloo0som to stem and second biggest is about to pass it up. Both melons are still bright green and growing with no yellow or orange showing. I figure I have almost two weeks before they start changing color. Republic Missouri weigh-off is not till October 6th. I may need to get them to a weigh-off before that!

With those measurements, how heavy do you think it is? I'm going to grow some next year with seed that Holloway is going to send me and so I'll prbably be asking a few questions. Gene

Like someone said earlier use the OTT pumpkin chart. That will give you a good idea what she weighs. Plus or minus a few. http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Attachments/2005WeightTables.pdf My guess is about 45 pounds.

Is 38.25 the circ? If so, I would say 20-25 lbs.

Dan Westfall grew a 46.6 pounder and he said his was smaller than mine. We will know soon as I am going to cut 1 of the four melons and take it to a county fair in three weeks.

Mr. Westfalls genetics are very heavy for their size. They are the only ones I have grown that were way over the chart. Without an OTT I would agree with Spudley's estimate, 21X42 should safely get you over 50 with normal rind thickness, but it is likely your could be thicker.
