What do you normally do when starting your Lope seeds? In the past I've planted my seeds directly into the garden (with mixed germination results), but this year I'm starting them indoors. Just wondering what others do.

the soil needs to be 70 degrees to get good germination, I start all mine inside.

Near 100% with paper towel method indoors to get them to pop then outdoors to let them sprout.

Thanks guys! I doubt my soil temp is up to 70 yet. Going to start them all inside this year using the paper towel method.

They start easily in the incubator with the melons 90 degrees near 100% germ. The 21 Crosby was the only failure in the first round. Hopefully will get the next one up.

I thought they would germinate ok direct sowing them so I tried it and none came up.So dissappointed in part because I want them to do well so I can share with the people that shared with me.I'm going to start them now inside.Do you think it's too late for zone 6 ?

Was probally too cool for them to direct sow. Should have plenty of time if starting today.
