Going Green

using Dan Westfalls genetics I have managed to win 1st place in Cantaloupe three years running. Dan grew a 46.6 Westfall and although I have never had one that big I have managed to place 1st and 2nd place most of the time in the4 last three years. This year my 37 pounder fell apart day before weigh-off as did my 33 pounder but I still manage a 1st place win with 27.5 Wellington, and 2nd place 21.5 pounds. Diary is Pumpkin Farm! Congrats Phil, In my opinion the 46.6 is the mostly likely seed to produce a WR. The 42 Moore is great to but hard to find

42 Moore should not be that hard to find...just a trip to get there...I put 15 or so of each of those seeds into approx 40 different packs...and sent them to the Giant Seed Exchange...Graciously put together by Shannon Engles (I think). My guess is that 80% or more of the recipients of those packs, never planted a lope seed!!! Peace, Wayne

Congrats!I agree with Jake, I have 1 seed of each of those plus I have 2nd & 3rd generation 46.6. The 46.6 is getting rare also, so I'd be interested in growing anything with those genetics. I don't have mater seeds, but do have good lope seeds to trade. Anyone who got a lope to the scales this year is lucky I had the coolest weather I've ever seen. Next year I figure the record will fall, I just hope whoever breaks it saves a seed or two for me. Wayne I give out hundreds of seeds each year and I only know of a couple that saw dirt...just the way the ball bounces

39.8 Wellington DMG (two weeks after weigh-off I found it in the patch when tearing out the vines) using the 46.6 Westfall. Josh & Jake, I agree...very few see dirt...that's why I said that the 42 Moore should not be hard to find...or maybe is hard to find...cause most folks that got them thru Mr. Engle's seed exchange don't grow Lopes? & don't even know they have them?? I sent 40 or so pks. w/ 12 or more seeds in each from the 42 Moore !!! Lots of seed out there!!!
Westham...if harvested at the proper time...Lopes are like Candy!!! If, big...Weigh them first...then EAT!!!

This year 2014 I will host the seed exchange and all participants will receive an envelope of seeds from the 39.8 Wellington which is the 46.6 Westfall genetics!
