Some mice and or rats are eating our watermelons and cantaloupes. Need some ideas on how to protect the giant cantaloupe. I made a two ft wide wire cage and put a shade cloth around it. it works kinda like a screen. The mice can still get under the cage cause of the cage sitting on the vine.

traps & poison are the only thing i found to get mice. If its rabbits, coyote urine from a hunting supply place or walmart will work, but mice don't mind.

I think the best thing to do is bait some traps with whatever they are currently eating. The rats went extinct here within a few days as soon as I did that...Except for one that set the trap off and got away. Now it wont go near the traps.

ok thank you. I will get glue traps for the giants. I can't put out poison. The dog eats the mice sometime. And I will put out some traps....big ones and little ones.
