Hi, I am wondering if cantaloupe plants put down roots along the vines like giant pumpkins do? Having never grown one leaves me clueless. I have a spot I am eyeing for a plant but would not be able to bury vines there. Wondering if that matters?

I would not bury them. I have grown some over 60 pounds and none were buried.
