Pete, great start!!!! Growin for heighth or head size? or both? I am sure you have some type of support system set already? Two years back I had 6' T posts welded together to make them just over 10' tall, to help stabilize a tall corn plant!!! BTW, I have a couple just over 6'!!! Peace, Wayne

My biggest one WAS 7 1/2 foot, till the 70mph wind broke it. Then the other one I had was 6'2 and the squrrel got on it and broke it. So now i'm down to about 3 plants and there about 5'8 and not that big. Sunflowers are fun if you can keep critters off of them and tie up down. This is my 1st time. Lessons learned QUICKLY! haha

Mine are around 6 foot. I purchased some pcs of metal conduit (3/4 inch x 10 foot long) and pounded them in to stake up.
A big thanks to Peace Wayne for the seeds .

Wayne, they are spaced out about 3.5 feet apart. I am hoping they don't get too much taller, but they are 8 ft and I don't see a seed head yet.
I suppose I can zip tie an extention on the conduit.

My biggest reached 13' and snapped during a heavy rain storm. It was supported at 10'.
Is this plant as good as dead or will it sprout a new top?
